Didnt have no computer access in my new room so no update! sorry fellas but such is the nature of things.. training started today, i hope it goes well... i really dont want them to make me do too much.. and boy, id like some more cash for the amount we have to do.. atleast they're serving us proper meals... unowhat? 4 other people in my building staff are vegetarian!! yeah baby!!

Highlight of the day yesterday: saw "memento".. great movie for a debut.. though I really wished they'd screwed more with my mind instead of making things kinda easy to figure out... latah, me.

Well, back to college.. last night, when i walked into my room, i was so reminded of my first day here in college.. that smell! cant define it.. its pleasant, its artificial.. its what i have come to identify as the US smell.... yeah, thats what I call it. Its that same smell i smelt when i went to switzerland, 5 years ago. All the rooms in these foreign countries smell the same. I think its the smell of furniture. The light shaded, wooden furniture that fills up the dormitories. Its a clean smell, a fresh smell. It wasnt there at Col's place, so I think it must be the furniture these colleges use.

So last night was totally wild. I walked into have a bath with The Fountainhead in my hand [this must be my 9th read or something!] Walked in at 9:30pm to have a bath and came out at 2:45am! Crazy huh!? Well, I didnt realize what the time was..and who cares? not like I had to do something!! Came back to the room and obviously couldnt sleep - thanks to the crazy nights at col's place. So we [Eric - this other Indian kid who is also going to be an RA stayed at my room] start watching Requiem for a Dream... obviously I was blown over.. those guys pushed the envelope.. they totally did... it was scary what they did to their characters... the camera movement in that movie is amazing.. its almost so "student-film-ish"/// Soundtrack is amazing too... you should check it out if you already havent..

By the time Requiem got over, it was 5 or something.. suddenly, we decided, Requiem wasnt a good movie to go to sleep with, that we needed something lighter... so we watched Dumb and Dumber... god! crazy movie.. nothing impressive.. but it was nice and light.. I dont think I would have been able to sit through the movie but after Requiem, i needed the comic relief... so you can imagine what time I mustve slept!!

Today, im moving into my new room at rowland.. its nice and airy... but its scary to be alone.. and I need to buy a fone... well, i think im going to do that now.. ebay, here I come!

Shocking news: At the National Society of Film Critics award ceremony, Diane Lane won the award of Best Actress, for 'UnFaithful' Click here for the full report of other wins. Anybody who has seen the film will know why Im reporting this. She edged actresses like Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, etc... I might have to stop seeing the Oscars if she wins one this year... whatev! Let me go on with my insignificant life!!

Today I reached College again... the past coupla days were amazing fun at col's place and she knows im thankful to her entire family for going out of their way and making things awesome for me.. thanks guys! I know the chance for payback will be a long way off, but ill try my best.. the travel back from her place was amazing too... here goes:

So i reach ronkonkoma station to catch the train to NYC.. barely roll out of the car and leave stuff behind.. hug colleen and run off... stand in line and the train begins to whistle.. now there is this old lady at the front of the line buying tickets from the machine and boy, WAS SHE PISSING OFF!!!??? she cant put in cash, cant use a touch screen, cant bend and get tickets... and she wont let anyone help her!!! So, the line doesnt move... after what seemed like eternity, she finally got her pudgy, boring, SAD, self out of the line and it finally moved forward.. the ticket collectors are starting to get impatient.. there must have been a minute left for the train to go and the line is still long.. Suddenly, out of no-where i hear a familiar voice call me. I turn around and who's there? Jesse and Veronica!! Well, I was so damn thankful to god.. i thought i would totally get lost.. atleast i had company till the city now!

So, once we had screamed about how coincidential it was for us to meet like this, we started cursing how we would miss the train... well, we almost did too! Almost a second after Jesse stepped aboard, the train took off! We had a lovely time in the train making obscene stupid jokes about nothign at all... once the train reached nyc, I had to go collect the manual for my camera from the shop I had purchased it from several days ago.. and I had to go to port authority for my bus to ithaca.. jesse was going to see a concert so we deicded it was time to say goodbye. Suddenly a second voice calls me, and i look up: its Merry!!! OMIGAAD! Merry in Penn Station! She was with her family.. going to see The Lion King with her family in Broadway.

So cool.. now I had someone to accompany me into the city as well... so merry took me to the camera guy, i collected my brochure and made my way to port authority.. by now, it was 20 mins for my bus to leave.. by the time I had bought my ticket and reached the line to board the bus, the line had grown HUGE. I thought i wasnt going to get a decent seat.. but I got one... infact I got TWO! The bus was full, and I got the only spare seat.. so I slept my lazy ass all the way! It was really cool!

More luck. The bus came in to Ithaca 20 mins early. So I start walking to the Commons. As soon as I reach the bus spot, a TCAT pulls up going to Ithaca College. I couldnt believe my luck. What was to be a 40 minute wait for the bus was now here... YEAH! So I got onto the bus, and guess who I met there? Raj! The tall indian from Kenya... so Raj and me chatted all the way and now im finally in my room... have a lot of packing to do...Im moving to my new RA room remember!? Well, whatev!

Take care, Me.

Gloom Doggy: i had a dream me and Sudie were makign french fries...

Well, sources tell me this conversation happened: What can i say? Im flattered.. my dreams had more to do with Back to the Future. Whike as of yesterday, I would have gladly proclaimed this to be the worst movie EVER, after a brief reminder of my time watching "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", I am forced to think otherwise.

Today is my last day in Long Island. Tomorrow, I leave at 11am. Bye people in Ronkonkoma, LI! I had more than a great time... im trying to contrast it with the colorful chirstmas I would have had sitting in college.. WOW! BLOWS MY MIND!!! btw, I am convinced ronkonkoma is a chinese name... try pronouncing it like this : ronk-konk-kom-Ah!

Hyapeople! Well, I have had some time to catch up with the pace of my last days here but I still havent updated: I think I will pass out the details to you people in Ithaca. Well, Im leaving Long Island on Wednesday, the 8th... today, morning+evening was lazy.. did nothing.. later in the evening went to this awesome (and freakin-expensive) restaurant with Col's parents where I ate some amazing Stir Fry and AMAZING baked potato soap...

Now, dinner wasnt all that simple... so we are beginning to order the food when the waiter asks us, "What would you like to drink?" I promptly look up and tell him Id like some soup. WAIT: reverse... background: in india when a waiter asks us the same question, some say soda, some say soup and thats perfectly fine coz SOUP - you freaking wierd americans - is a DAMN DRINK!!! okay, go: so I say soup and this dead silence follows... the waiter keeps looking at me, I look around the table at shut faces, and repeat clearly : S-o-u-P!!! The waiter doesnt move; repeats question : "What..what would.. you you like to...to drink? Of course by now people are rolling around me and Im like "WHAT!!" Between lauging at me, and explaining to the waiter, Col explains "Soup later.. do you want soda etc" To which I go NO. Of course, persistant jokes followed about how Id like to drink beef, and every other thing...

Anyway, finally we returned home and I was al ready to relax when Mrs Mom "ordered" me to do my laundry.. so I was getting all ready to do laundry when Col decided 5 mins was way-too-long for us to stay in the house... so again, off we went to Sports-Club - this Video Game place///anyway, I thrashed Dave at Air-Hockey: 7-2... and proceeded to Friendly's. now, this is the tough one to digest: even though I had eaten like a maniac at the restaurant, I DRANK ANOTHER SHAKE at Friendly's... it was amazingly delicious... but I was disgusted at myself... ANOTHER SHAKE?? ?? God, Im scared of me!!! Alright, now we are back and we're going to watch the Back to the Future trilogy... but we've been waiting for a million years and Josh and Merry havent arrived.. what the hell are you people up to (wink) ????

Later spontaneous time in the snow behind RobFlack's house with Liz, Dave, Col and me... (and RobFlack Duh!!!)... Amazing, we sled, slid, fell, pushed and Tony lost his house+car+dormroom+cabin+papertowelholder+whatever+else+you+can+think+of keys in the snow.. more searching and the night ended with col and me having a fun-fyzical-fight-club fight in the snow.. later watched some SHIT tv and am now updating... more details later ~ ME
